What is a Doula?
A Doula is a person who informs and accompanies both the Mother and Farther during the process of pregnancy and is typically there before the birth, during delivery and postpartum.
How does it work?
Doulas are not necessarily physcians, they are not midwives, so they do not deliver babies, they do not send presecriptions, they do not diagnose. Doulas only accompany and inform mothers and their partners or relatives so they know what options they have. Studies have shown that the emotional and physical support of Doulas have many benefits during childbirth, such as a 50% reduction in caesareans, 40% reduction in the use of forceps and a 25% reduction in the duration of deliveries.
How can I help you?
As your Doula I will focus on support you and your family in the best way possible by providing support both emotionally and physically. I will provide information and tools so you can know what options you have and that you can feel more secure when making decisions.
